Less than 2 weeks...and counting!!

So, Evlyn can come any day and I'm getting kinda anxious. I wish she would give me a hint like, a range of days. Oh well. I guess I need to start learning patience. :P I did start having small contractions on Friday, but they've come and gone. At first I wasn't sure if it was a contraction or not, but then I asked my mom and sister, and they described what I was feeling. So, I think she'll come before the due date and I'm hoping for sometime this week. :P I'm doing her very last load of laundry right now for her clothes up to 6 months and her blankets. On Friday, I went to the doctor and I'm still dilated to a 1.5, and 50% effaced. But, the contractions started like 7 hours after the appointment so maybe I'm dilated more now? I'll show pics of her room further down on this post.

On Friday, my mom came up to help me set up her porta crib and to go shopping for some projects around the house. I wanted a second opinion before I spent money on wood and other things that I don't know much about. It was really nice and gave me someone to talk to during the day. :P I've started to get kinda bored, even if I'm doing stuff b/c I don't really interact with people that much. While my mom was here, my friend Loriel also came and brought me gift- a massage gift certificate!! I'm excited!
Remember that wimpy little utility rug I bought at the dollar store as a door mat? Well, at Lowes, they happened to have a rug clearance! This rug was normally I think around 15 dollars, and I got if for 5! It's nice and heavy-duty, and I think it's pretty too. yay!
Here's the baby book section of our bookcase! The pooh bear books on the left that make a picture are from my parents. I used to love those books when I was little! My mom had like 5 sets of different children's books and let us each choose a set to keep. I chose this one b/c I loved them so much when I was little. The rest are ones I've picked up or ones I got from my baby shower. I can't wait to read to my little girl!
Okay, here's some random pictures of Evlyn's room. This is a cute basket I was given, and I decided to put her little tiny socks in it.
And there's all of her cute clean socks. :)

Here is a basket that I decided will be for Evlyn's head things. Originally it was just for hair things, but she has some cute little hats and a pair of adorable sun glasses that I decided to add to the mix. So, above is the bows and below is the head bands to put the bows on.
Here is Evlyn's porta-crib. I'm most likely going to move it into our room next to my side of the bed for the first month or so. But, for now it's in her room. You can't really tell but the bumpers are a really soft and pretty purple. My mom was in charge of the group gift for my baby shower and she went to multiple stores to find the bumpers and the mattress. I'm so glad cuz it helped me out a lot!!
This is another wall hanging in her room, that I painted years ago. I just thought it might look cute in a baby room. It's kinda blurry, but it's a swan.
haha Here are Evlyn's adorable shoes. I can't get over how cute they are!! She's gonna have more shoes than me before she even walks. lolAnd finally, here's her closet with her dresses hanging up, smallest to largest sizes. I'm so excited to dress her up!
On Saturday, Jared and I went to the Easter Pageant. The weather was absolutely perfect!! We went to my parents' house first and hung out with Aimee and Josh's family too for about 45 minutes. Then we went to Subway and to the temple to eat it there. We got there at 7, a whole hour early, and it took us about 15 minutes to find a parking spot! We parked 2 or 3 blocks away, and I thought it was going to be really bad if I went into labor and we had to walk all the way to the car and then drive the 45 minutes to the hospital. Luckily, I did not. :P The Easter Pageant was, of course, really good. We went with Jared's cousin, whom he happened to be companions with on his mission! So, it was fun to get to know him and his wife a little.

Yesterday was Easter and we had family dinner with the Morris family. It was fun and way too yummy!! There were at least 7 or 8 different desserts! We brought pumpkin bread pudding. Anyway, the little kids got to do a big Easter egg hunt before hand and it was cute.
Church was interesting. First, the young women were going to sing a song for a new beehive and the lady who plays the piano was not there. So, they asked me to play. The song looked easy enough so I said I could. Then they asked me to play prelude. So, not really worrying about the song I played prelude and then luckily they wanted to run through the song once before singing it. Well, let's just say I totally butchered it. The girls were nice though and we kinda joked about it. I was soo embarrassed, and then I was saved! The lady who usually plays it walked in and she played it when they really sang it. I just had to conduct, which was fine with me!
Then, I had the lesson for the beehives. It went okay, and then I started erasing the board. The clock was hanging on the black board, not the wall, and I accidentally bumped it. It went flying across the room and broke. This was definitely not my day! The 2nd counselor over the Beehives, Ruth, was very nice and put it back up and made it look as good as it could. She helped me feel a little better but man was that an embarrassing day!

Today I meet with a possible pediatrician for Evlyn, and from here on out we just play the waiting game. :) Hopefully my next post will have pictures of her!!

37 Weeks!

Evlyn is now full term, so she can basically come any time. Of course, there's still almost 3 weeks until the due date, so who knows. This past weekend, Jared and I went to Mesa to visit my family and to go to a bridal shower of a friend. Aimee and Josh came over too with their children, so we all hung out. Aimee took some pregnancy pictures of me, which we were going to do together but didn't get to before she had her baby. Here are some of them.

So, it was fun. We also watched the episode of the Cosby show where the men get pregnant lol. I've seen it 3 times now and it's still hilarious to me. :P

On Friday, Jared's cousin Niki invited Erblina and I over to make hair bows. It was cool to learn how! My sister makes them and I think they're really cute, so it was fun to make one of my own. I made a white one for Evlyn's blessing, and I'm so excited about it!

So, it's super hot!! I'm anxious for when I can be a little cooler after I have the baby, and also for when I can fit into my swimsuit again and go swimming! Well, that's about it. I'm almost ready for Evlyn, and I think I just have one more load of laudry to do for her clothes! yay! that makes 4 I think. Who knew how many clothes babies had?

Life Story

So, this is pretty much going to be a compilation of random and scattered thoughts, and what I've been up to. First of all, let me say 4 weeks and 2 days!!! I went to the doctor yesterday and everything's going great. Evlyn has a strong heartbeat and is facing down. yay! And, I'm dilated to a 1.5. Today, I've been finally washing Evlyn's clothes, towel, blankets, etc in Baby All. Hopefully it'll be okay for her skin.

I had two wonderful baby showers thrown for me. One was thrown by my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and it was so much fun! The other was thrown by my friend Laurel and her mom Cindy, and it was also a blast! I am so grateful for both of them, and for everybody who came! People were so kind, and it was so good to see some old friends! I don't really have pictures yet, but I do have 2 from the one that Laurel threw for me.

This is a cute sign that is hanging in the baby's room, that my friend Kat (Kayla, or Twin) made for me. Yes, she has 3 names that I know her by. lol.

And this is an adorable diaper cake (not really to eat) that was for decoration. Then, they gave me the diapers! Really cute idea, I thought! Thank you to everybody at both baby showers!

This is a picture that my mother-in-law, Diana, gave to us. I think it's beautiful and now it is in our front room. Yay for decorations! Speaking of decorations, I finally started decorating the walls. I bought a hammer and nails, b/c we didn't have any, and started hanging stuff up. Here's just a few.
Oh, this one's not permanent, nor is it hanging with a hammer and nails. I got it for $.25 at Target and thought it'd be fun. :P it's a dry-erase board. Anyway, back to other decorations...

This is a sign that I got for free at Deseret Book last Conference session, during the Priesthood session. They had a girls night party thing that they have every conference I think, and the first so many people got this. I like the quote! Hmm I guess I didn't take pictures of the rest, but there are other decorations now hanging on our once bare walls. :P

Remember this picture? It was a picture of weeds in a previous post. Well, now look at the bush growing at the base of our yummy orange tree. (It's really not a bush, just lots of random branches that eat the nutrients but would not be able to hold oranges). So, now that I'm done weeding, this was my next task.

And there you go! I gave it a hair cut! Yes, that is the same tree. There are two that I gave hair cuts to, and now I just need to get a rake and rake up all the dead branches. :P

This is a sad story. I was at the dollar store and got very excited b/c there were rugs that would be perfect for our front door! I've been looking, but their kinda expensive. So, I thought $1?! How could I pass that up! Well, It was rolled up so I couldn't really tell how big it would unroll to be. I spent about 10 minutes debating which type to get, and finally got this one. I got home, opened it up, and this was it. It's not a rug. It's a utility runner. :( Needless to say I was a bit disappointed and felt a little dumb. This is something I was proud of though. The first thing that I have successfully drilled into the wall. haha I couldn't do our curtains b/c I'm too short and it was just too hard. But, our half bathroom doesn't have a towel holder, so I bought and installed it. Isn't it cute? :)

So, for Conference we went to my parent's house on Saturday. Aimee, Josh, Mylee, Landon, and new baby Brixton came over too. yay! I got to hold the cute baby! Anyway, here's my sweetheart with Mylee.

All during conference Mylee kept saying "Charlie bit my finger". She wanted to watch it, so after conference Jared pulled it up on Youtube and watched it with her.

Then Landon came over and watched it too. Cute cute.

Two weeks ago, March 25th, Jared and I were walking around the temple when we saw Shirlene Styers!! She used to be my Young Women's leader, and then she took our wedding pictures. She was taking pictures of her activity day girls, and wanted to take some pictures of the pregnant me. lol She's so cute and it was fun! Here are two of the pictures she took.
I think they're good pictures, but I thought, "Do I really look that chubby?" I mean, it looks like I almost have a double chin in the one above. So, I was a little bummed, and then Aimee took these two pictures a week later, during conference.

I must've just been puffier that day? I don't know. Oh well. Aimee's baby is adorable and it made me more anxious to hold my little girl. Mylee was so cute b/c Evlyn was hiccuping in my stomach almost the whole day. She's big enough now that you can even see when she hiccups. So, Mylee held her hand on my stomach for like 10 or 15 minutes, just feeling. She got excited when Evlyn kicked her too, and she talked to her. It was so cute! It was funny too, b/c my sister Paige wanted to feel, but almost every time she tried Evlyn would stop kicking. Then Paige would leave and Evlyn would start kicking again. :P I think Paige did get to feel her hiccup though, and maybe kick a few times.

Well, that was one LONG post. Oh yeah, one more thing! Leah, Jared's little sister, just got home from her mission on Monday. So, we all went out to dinner with her and it was fun!

Okay, one more thing. So, I've been SUPER tired lately and taking one nap doesn't even seem like enough. But, last night I got about 6 hours of sleep, and I woke up at 6 really hungry. I ate breakfast and was wide awake! Strange. So, I decided to take advantage of my extra energy. I gave the trees a haircut (as mentioned above), cleaned the kitchen, did 3 loads of laundry, started organizing and putting away the baby clothes, organized my jewlery, and now I'm about to make dinner. Oh, and of course blogged. It's nice having this much energy!!

Oh, and P.S., I LOVE the RAIN!!!
