Evlyn's percentiles

I just wanted to post this for mine and Evlyn's future benefit. We went to her 2 month doctor's appointment yesterday and she is 12 lbs. 11.5 oz, which is the 88th percentile. She is also 22.75 inches long, which is the 55th percentile. Go Evlyn! She's super healthy and everything's great!

First time Swimming! First time wearing shoes!

Well, my precious baby had 2 firsts this weekend! On Saturday, we went to Mesa. My hubby and I got our first date to the temple since Evlyn's been born. We left her with my mom to babysit. It was nice, but I was stressed most of the time about Evlyn getting hungry and needing me lol. Then we hung out and helped watch Aimee's children while they went out for their anniversary.That night, Aimee invited us to go swimming in their apartment complex's pool.

The 2 babies, Evlyn, and Brixton, were asleep at first. Then Evlyn woke up so I decided to give it a try.

  And, she's in! She was great! It was a little cool, but not too cold. She just let me walk around with her about half in the water. She just sucked on ther hand the whole time like this was nothing new. As you can tell from the above picture, though, I was excited! lol I was mad though, b/c these kids kept jumping in next to us and splashing us, eventhough we all asked them to be careful and that there were babies. Finally, after Evlyn got splashed in the face, I got out. Then, the adult that was with these 5 children, who didn't care that the were splashing babies, started smoking!! urg! Anyway, Jared and Aimee's kids had fun!

Aimee made her version of a Moby wrap, b/c they're super expensive. I thought it looked cool and asked to try it. So, she wrapped it around us for me, and Evlyn liked it! I loved it! Evlyn fell asleep and I could carry her with free hands! So, Jared asked his mom if she had any fabric we could use, and now I have my own! yay!! This one's Aimees.

This morning, Evlyn was being so cute and smiling! I got 2 pictures, but still not of her cute huge gummy smile. Someday I'll be fast enough. :P

Yesterday, Evlyn had the cutest little dress on for church! We visited Granny before we went to family dinner.

And, Evlyn's first time wearing shoes!!! Aren't they adorable??!!

There's my little princess!! We have her 2 month appointment today, and we get to find out how much she's grown! I'm excited!

Oh yeah, and she is so funny! She has started to like pooping at bad times on Sundays. Last week, she pooped all over her little dress and I wasn't smart and didn't bring her extra clothes. So, a nice lady let us use her son's onesie. lol Then yesterday, I was giving her a bath and she pooped in the water. I got her out, washed her off, and wrapped her in her towel. Then, she pooped in the towel. lol. Then last night, she pooped on my skirt after family dinner. I wonder what next Sunday will bring us. :P

4th of July, Evlyn update

Evlyn is getting so big!! She turned 2 months on Monday!! But, she's already wearing 3 month clothes! I'm excited to see how tall she is and how much she weighs at her appointment this Monday! I was so excited, b/c Evlyn hasn't really liked her swing. She usually cried right when we put her in it. So, we haven't tried for a while and I decided to try today. She loved it!

I had to take a picture of her in this onesie, b/c she can't wear too many onesies anymore. She's so long that they don't fit lol. But, I love the ones that talk about daddy and mommy.

And, love these pants. haha I don't like it when older girls have stuff written on the butt, but for some reason I think it's adorable on babies. It's okay for people to look at a baby's butt, right?

Now, this is a funny story. After Evlyn's blessing, Aimee and I were taking pictures of people holding Evlyn. Well, we both thought the other got pictures of Jared's parents, but neither did. So, the following Sunday, we brought her dress to re-inact a picture. But, Evlyn was sound asleep so they just draped the dress over her. haha

Here is Jared's aunt, Sonya. And, below is her hubby. Now, this is a funny story. The other day, Jared was holding Evlyn and I said I loved it when he held her b/c his big hands made her look smaller. So, joking, he said we should have Kwame, his uncle, hold her. Kwame is probably 6 ft. 10? I'm not sure, but he's super tall! I think I come between his belly button and his chest when we both stand next to each other. Well, I thought that was a great idea! So, we had him hold her and I took some pictures. :P

Cute, huh? She looks a little smaller, right?

Now, here's a cute little play thing she got from a baby shower, but I haven't tried it yet b/c she didn't seem like she would enjoy it. I got it out about a week ago, and she liked it! She is slowly liking it more and more, as her attention span gets bigger. It's really cool! It has a mirror, a bird that plays music, 2 teething toys, a rattle, and another toy that hang. I love the bright colors.

Here are some cute socks that were given to her by our friends, Terry and Theresa Keel. I love them! There are like 6 different colors.

This bib was made for Evlyn by some friends, the Adams. They are a husband and wife who were here b/c she was receiving treatment for cancer, and they were staying with Jared's parents. They are so sweet, and they moved back to Utah right before Evlyn was born. The wife crochetted this bib for her, and it's beautiful!

Evlyn's Baby Blessing

Our baby Evlyn was blessed this past Sunday, July 3, 2011. With our religion, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, babies recieve an ordinance called a name and a blessing. It was a great experience having my husband do this, along with other family members.

My sister, the great photographer, took all but the last 2 of these pictures. My mom made the dress that Evlyn's wearing, for my sister Aimee. I also wore it, along with my younger sister. My mom also made the afghan that Evlyn's laying on, for her.

Landon and his somehow-related cousin (I don't know how it works but it's Jared's sister's son and my sister's son), got along very well! They are only a month apart.
