Firsts

This month has had a lot of firsts for Evlyn. Some good, some no so good. Let's get the not-so-god out of the way first. 2 weeks ago, she had a temperature of 100.2. I called the nurse to see if I should give her something for it, and about 30 min. later, she felt warmer. So I took her temp. again and it was 102.2! I called the doctor and scheduled an appointment for her. They did a strep test, and it was negative. Then, they put a catheder in my poor baby! She was screaming so hard I thought she might stop breathing. And, all I could do was hold her little hand and kiss her forhead. :( Not fun. Well, the test came back that she had a bladder infection. There's 1rst #1. Poor baby. They perscribed antibiotics, which made her sick. So, I took her back, and a different doctor found an ear infection too. They switched anti-biotics, and she's doing much better! Phew! I have to take her in on Thursday to run some tests though, b/c they want to make sure the bladder infection wasn't caused by an abnormality with her UT. :( Okay. Now for the better things.

1rst Picnic! Jared had the weekend off from school work, so I planned a picnic in the park! We walked, and ate. :) And, stopped at a yard sale on the way. Here's Jared with our picnic basket we got for our wedding!

My 5-month-old!

So, I have now been tutoring for 2 weeks, and it's going pretty well! Evlyn takes a nap, and I tutor! It's a little tricky trying to still keep the house clean, do the dishes and laundry, and everything I usually do while she's napping. Oh well, I'll get the hang of it.  Evlyn LOVES to chew on anything and everything! She really likes water too, and she knows how to get both! My water bottle! My little smart princess!

Below is Evlyn demonstrating how to do the superman! Well, actually, this is what she does when she's mad and doesn't want to be on her tummy anymore. :P

We went to Jared's work 2 weeks ago, and here's Evlyn sitting on Daddy's lap! His boss was so funny and carried Evlyn around to meet all the "aunts and uncles". lol She was a proud "aunt" or "grandma". I can't remember which she called herself.

Then, I took Evlyn to visit my cooperating teacher that I student taught under. He had fun holding her too.

Then, we went to visit a family friend, Theresa. Our poor little baby was exhausted!

Later, we went to my parents' house and my mom got our old Halloween costumes out for my sister's children. Jared decided to put this pipi-longstockings headband on her. Cute, huh?! She doesn't look too thrilled.

And, Evlyn's first General Conference!

Back at home, we were given this exercise bike by Jared's parents and a friend of theirs. Jared decided to try it out with Evlyn.

 Last week, it got colder and we loved it! However, it made our morning walks a little nippy for Evlyn. So, I got to dress her up in warm clothes! She doesn't match, but I just thought she looked soo cute!

 On Saturday, our friends Laurice and Mary came to visit us and Evlyn. Here's Mary with Evlyn.

 And here's Laurice. Evlyn has grown a lot since they've seen her!

 Then, on Sunday, I decided to take some pics of Evlyn. She was wearing a dress that was mine, and a ton of people commented on it at church.

 In the above photo, her expression is so funny! But, for some reason, she decided to smile a huge smile for the next one! I love it!

 She's a lot more playful now that she can roll over! Here she is just playing on the blanket!

~She has eaten and enjoyed so far: carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, pears, and rice cereal.

~She's getting much better at rolling over

~She grabs her feet and puts them in her mouth to suck on her big toe.

~She laughs and smiles

~She is kind of attached and cries if someone besides Jared or I hold her

~She loves water: touching it, playing in it, splashing in it, and drinking it

~She drools all the time!

~She makes lots of cooing and babbling noises

~She can sit up on her own mostly

~She can stand with barely any support

Here are two videos that I thought were cute! My little princess just keeps getting cuter! I love being a mommy!

New job, new food

My baby is four months old!! And, she just rolled over last night! As of last Wednesday, she weighs 15 lbs. 2 oz, and is 25 inches tall. That's the 76th percentile for weight and 75th for height! The doctor told me to start feeding her cereal and baby food every day. Well, I don't want to every day, b/c I think most of her food should still be milk, but I've done it a few times. She LOVES it! Here's the first time. She just loved grabbing the food and touching it. (It was carrots)

 haha she really liked it, but I didn't get any good pictures of it. She kept blinking, but it makes her look drunk.

 And, here she is eating her jumper. She loves to chew on anything and everything!

 And, here's Evlyn trying to get the hanging animals off the swing. After about 5 minutes she realizes she can't pull them into her mouth and gets angry. lol

 She was watching daddy cut his hair. :)

 Last Saturday was Josh's birthday. And, Mylee's was on Wednesday. So, Aimee had a birthday party and we went to Mesa for it. They rented a bounce house, and Evlyn LOVED jumping while watching Landon jump.

 Then she pooped on her cute dress and I was not prepared with another outfit. So, Aimee let us borrow Brixton's. She still looks cute in a boy's onesie, though right?

 This was a cute daddy daughter sleep moment. :)

So, I got a job! I'm going to be tutoring online. We'll see how it goes... Hopefully I can do it mostly while Evlyn's sleeping or while Jared's home and has a break from homework. I'll let ya know how it works out when I start.
