She is now tall enough to play the piano from standing! It's crazy how fast my little baby is growing!!

Happy Birthday Jared! Walking!!

This weekend has been full of accomplishments for little Evlyn!! On Saturday morning, at my parents' house, Evlyn finally learned how to clap! She's been trying for a while, but didn't quite get her hands to touch. yay! Then, in the afternoon, she walked! She's taken one step before, but she took 4 or 5!! It was so exciting, and Jared, my mom, dad, and I got to see! Then, last night, her 3rd tooth that's been torturing her for about a week now, finally broke through! yay!! 

Here's cute little Evlyn sleeping in a basket! We went to my cousin's wedding reception, and it was cold and late. So, Jared wrapped her up all cozy in this little basket. :)

For Valentine's Day, I wanted to make heart-shaped things. This was actually the day after, too, but I liked it. :) I learned on Pinterest how to make heart-shaped hard-boiled eggs.

Jared's birthday was last week, and I made him cookie dough cupcakes. I really liked them! They had a blob of cookie dough in the middle, and the cake and frosting tasted like cookie dough too. mmm!!

More Food, More Evlyn

Evlyn is 8.5 months old! I love her smile!! My big girl already wants to be so independent! She likes to take the spoon and try to feed herself. She has also started climbing our stairs and thinks it is the funniest thing! The other night, every few steps she climbed, she turned around and smiled or laughed. haha. Such a cutie!

 I wish I knew how to rotate these pictures! Sorry, you'll just have to turn your head. She likes her swing again, although she's almost too big for it!

 haha these next two pictures are not flattering, but I thought they were funny! You see that bruise on her head? Poor thing! She loves to stand whenever she can, and she was holding on to our bed post while standing on the floor. Then she fell, and her heat went right into the corner. :( Now she has a Harry Potter bruise. :P

 I was eating this huge carrot the other day, and she stole it from me. haha. She loves chewing on it.

 Now for my food experiments. These recipes all came from Pinterest. The first one was SOOO good! I had so many people ask me for the recipe. They are peanut butter, nutterbutter truffles. mmm!

 Then, today, I tried baked avocado fries. They were pretty good, although a little over done. I ate a few before I took the pictures, if ya can't tell haha.

 Then, I made a pumpkin pie, without the crust. I was too lazy to make a crust, and I had some pumpkin puree left from my oatmeal this morning. That was another fun experiment, but I didn't take a picture. It was yummy! So, here's our dessert for tonight. It will be like a pudding, I guess.

 Evlyn LOVES water, and anything that could have water-water bottles, cups, pitchers, you name it. She even steals other people's water bottles. haha

 This was so funny! I snapped the picture when both of her hands were off the book, without meaning to. It looks like she was just grabbing things with her mouth.

I'm excited for Evlyn's 9 month check-up, where I get to see how much she weighs and how tall she is! 

Fun with Food! Hair!

So, Evlyn is now wearing mostly 12 month clothes. Her daddy dressed her today, and I must say he has greta taste! You'll see her shoes in another pic. below. 

 Oh, and she is getting more hair!! YAY!! This is the first time a clip would actually stay in! (for a little)

 Last Monday, Jared had off work b/c of Martin Luther King Day. So, we started off the day by going to the park! It was fun to show Jared how much Evlyn loves swinging in the baby swing!

 haha! I love her face here! She is having fun, but also making that "butterflies in stomach from going so fast" face.

 Here's a cute little shirt that she probably won't get to wear again. :( It's a 12 month, and I thought it would be huge but figured I should try it on her anyway. Well, it was very hard to get on. The little pants jeans were so cute too, but pretty tight.

 I just thought she looked cute with her hood on. :)

 So, Jared's parents gave us some old food storage they had. Mostly wheat berries and powdered milk So, I've been experimenting! The first one has nothing to do with the food storage though. I've just been wanting to try a desert that had avocados. And, since we got 6 for $1 I bought tons!! (Really! In the past month, I think I've bought about 30!!) So, I made this pudding desert. I thought it was yummy, yet strange. My friend also really liked it. Jared, however, did not. That's okay! I got to eat his too! mmm!

 Here is one of my experiments with wheat berries. Stuffed bell peppers. It was yummy! And healthy!! It has meat, wheat berries, ricotta cheese, sauteed onions and garlic, and spinach. mmm! Oh, and an egg and Parmesan cheese.

 And, homemade mayo! It was suprisingly yummy!  This had the powdered milk. mmm! It's fun having these things to experiment with!

I also made a maple buttermilk pie, which I got the recipe from pinterest. I used the powdered milk, and it was pretty yummy! I just need more practice making a good pie crust. I forgot to take a picture, sadly. :( Oh, and I attempted sprouted bread. That was a crazy, long story in and of itself. I was pretty stressed at the end of the process, and disappointed. But, I think I will try it again in a while. Next time, hopefully I'll have more successful experiments to share!
