Escher's first food, 4 months old

Escher turned 4 months on December 23. He weighs 15 lbs 4 oz, and is 25.5 inches tall. He is such a sweetie!!
He:
Coos and yells/screams he's playing
Grabs things and puts them in his mouth
Has the strongest grip ever
Rolls over from his tummy to his back
Chews on anything and everything
Smiles at anyone who smiles at him
Loves to sit but still needs help balancing

Yesterday, Evlyn and I decided to try feeding him for the first time, just for fun. I cooked and blended up a carrot for him, just like Evlyn for her first food. He seemed to know exactly what to do, and was happy after. 😀 here are some pictures and videos!

Cancun!!

We had the awesome experience of going to Cancun with Jared's family in April, for 6 whole days!! It was incredible!! We stayed right on the beach, ate as much food as was possible, swam, ate some more, and played! It was so relaxing and awesome to spend time with Jared's family. Not to mention, so beautiful!! Some of my favorite memories are:

*playing with/holding 2 monkeys
-This was awesome! I didn't get any pictures, because you had to pay to take a picture. But, they were so cute and it was so fun! They played with my hair, hugged my arm, sat on my shoulder, and I looked in my pockets. lol

* Huge Chess board!

I went barefoot most of the time, and it did wonders on my poor calloused feet!

*There was a fun jungle show with fun music and dancing from Tarzan and Rio.

Birthday cake for 2 cousins who had a birthday while we were there.

 

*accidental alcohol
The women went out to dinner one night, and we asked for Virgin drinks. (Margaritas and Mojitos). Instead, they brought us "frozen" drinks. I took 2 or 3 big drinks before other people started sipping theirs, and whispering that there might be alcohol. I definitely didn't like it, but I kept drinking it because I was trying to figure out why it was bitter and gross. When I realized it was probably alcohol, I stopped, and then noticed my throat burning.

*kayaking
Jared and I got to go kayaking with each other and with Evlyn. It was really awesome!

*sail-boat (hobby cat)
We went on a sail boat ride way out into the ocean. It was so cool, and Evlyn LOVED getting the salt water splashed on her face and licking it.

*had a butler
We had a butler the whole time!!

*cooking/drink classes
One of the main chefs came 2 days and gave us cooking classes! And, we got to eat the food she made!

Influenster Voxbox!

So, I joined this reviewing website called Influenster, and it gives you the chance to try new products and review them...pretty awesome!! Here is my first box!

Pretty awesome, right? It's called a TLC box for moms, and it came with neosporin to go, puffs tissues, free breyers gelato coupon (YUMMM!) ivory soap, a shell card, and a new Avon product! I tried the Avon Anew wrinkle smoother, and it's pretty cool! It seems to be similar to a primer, to make your skin look smoother, but not actually treat the wrinkles. We also tried the neosporin, which is always a must have in my house, so of course I liked it! I LOVE puffs tissues because they are so soft and this travel size is perfect for on the go uses. I haven't tried the Ivory soap yet, but it smells pretty good and it will probably be great for our sensitive skin!!

FROZEN!!

We are OBSESSED with the movie Frozen! By "we", I mean Evlyn and me. By "obsessed", I mean we know all the songs, and we sing them ALL the time! And, do the actions lol. Evlyn is a little actress!! Here are some videos I have gotten of her singing. The first one is in her room, when she was supposed to be taking a nap lol.

I had a potty training house party last month, and it was a lot of fun!

 Sometimes Jared and I like to try new food using Groupon or Livingsocial. This time, we tried Mediterranean food, and it was yummy!!

Evlyn, my little monkey, loves to climb on EVERYTHING!! Here she is rock climbing!!She was so good, but so scary! Randomly, when she was done, she would just let go and expect someone to catch her. Luckily one of us was always right there. But, we kept telling her to tell us before she let go, and she still just let go without saying anything.

The Laurels let us crash their mutual one night, and they were doing facials. Evlyn REALLY wanted to put a mask on, so one of the girls put it on for her. She LOVED it!!

Then, she let Evlyn put one on her! Evlyn also loved that! I wish I had a picture of her face expression though. She was so focused!

Our friends let us borrow their game, ladderball. Evlyn caught on fast, and was pretty good!

Evlyn started taking a little ballet class and she absolutely loves it! And, I love watching. It is soo cute!! Here she is just chillin' after class, on the way home.

We went to the Gilbert Temple open house, and it was beautiful!! Evlyn was really good, and really enjoyed it. Afterwards, I asked her what she thought of the temple. In case you can't understand the video, she said, "I think it's pretty!" :)

Weddings

This past month, we have been able to go to 2 beautiful weddings. The first was my sister-in-law, Leah. It was fun having all of Evlyn's cousins in town to play with her, and also so many people to hang out and help with wedding stuff. Here is the night of the reception...Evlyn was a little tired.

Then, at the end of August, we got to go to Heber for my cousin's wedding. We went with my dad and grandpa, and had a lot of fun! Heber was beautiful, rainy, and it was fun to be at their lodge. Here's Evlyn just being cute.

 Jared played with Evlyn outside the temple while we waited for the bride and groom to get married. There was only room for immediate family, so we just enjoyed the beautiful weather.
