So, last week was a crazy week and I decided to do a quick post about it. Jared and I noticed our freezer wasn't as cold as it used to be on Sunday. I thought maybe it was just turned down too low and we had been eating food from our freezer quite a bit, so it was quickly emptying. We turned it all the way to the coldest setting and decided to wait.
Well, Monday night came and the ice was dripping, the meat was defrosting, frozen juice was no longer frozen, EVERYTHING was melting! (Including pumped milk which was sad). Luckily, a good friend who lives pretty close let me store most of our meat in her freezer so I wheeled it over to her house with Evlyn in the stroller. It was too late to call anyone so early Tuesday morning I called a repair man. He came at around 12:30. After taking the food out and inspecting our freezer/fridge, he said there was an internal leak and the only way to fix it was to take apart the entire fridge. He said we needed a new fridge.
So, now I was in panic mode! We still had food in both the freezer and the fridge. I called my mother-in-law (Diana), who let me bring most of our freezer food and some of the fridge food. My mom started looking on Craigslist for me while I was driving to my in-laws' house. Then, while there Diana and my sister-in-law (Kiana) helped me with Evlyn while I searched on line. And, I found one! Diana took me in their truck to go pick it up!
Yay! So, we got a fridge and everything worked out. We just had to wait to plug it in. Then, Wednesday morning I got up at 6 and began switching the food. Luckily we only lost a few things. Crazy few days, but so many people helped us and now we have a working fridge/freezer!
