Evlyn
So, Evlyn's sleeping and I'm too tired to do more cleaning. And, I have lots of cute pictures of my princess that I thought I should post. Today, Evlyn is 13 days old. Tomorrow she'll be 2 weeks! It's crazy! She's so cute and we love her to pieces! She loves to pee right when I take her diaper off, which is hilarious! Luckily she's been on a changing pad whenever this has happened!
She's so funny to watch in her sleep! And, she's so cute when she stretches! She's a week old here.

This one's on the same day. I love how cuddly she is!
Here's Evlyn after a sponge bath. This is her 2nd sponge bath by me, and her 4th total. (They gave her 2 in the hospital.) She is 8 days old here.
I wanted to get a picture with her next to my belly before she got bigger than she was at birth. It's just amazing to me how babies can fit in stomachs! She was 9 days old here and I think a few oz. less than she was at birth.
I love when she plays a little before a nap! I can't wait to see what color her eyes are! She's 11 days old here.
Here's Evlyn 12 days old. I love this little dress of hers, and how cute she is laying on her tummy! She rarely lays on her tummy, and I make sure I can see her incase she turns her head.
Hehe LOVE this picture!! She looks like a little lady bug!!
I absolutely LOVE this picture! She was asleep in my lap.

Birth Story
Okay, so I probably will not be blogging much for a while, bc I don't wanna be on the computer for long amounts of time when I can be hanging out with my little girl. Plus, there's lots of housework I've gotten behind on. But, I promised the birth story so here it is.
Little Evlyn was just not ready by her due date (Mother's Day), and the doctor wanted to induce me on Monday, the day after. I really wanted her to come on her own, so I asked if we could push it back. It got pushed 2 days, to Wed. at 6am. Well, despite lots of contractions, she did not come before the induction.
So, On Wednesday morning, a very tired(couldn't sleep much)/scared/excited Kayla and her hubby Jared made their way to the hospital to have a baby. I was dilated to a 3 when I got there, and was already having contractions when they hooked me up to the monitor. It was fun hearing Evlyn's heartbeat on it! So, Jared and I relaxed, played backgammon, talked, watched Saved By the Bell, and just waited. They put me on the pitocin at around 8am, and we continued to watch the monitor to see how close the contractions were getting. They began to get stronger and stronger, and I really wanted to try without the epidural. Jared was really sweet and tried to help me through each contraction. He held my hand and massaged my back, and tried to comfort me. However, after a few hours they got really bad and I decided to get the epidural. Once that kicked in, it was so weird! I couldn't move my legs. I got that feeling back though and was able to.
The problem was, the epidural made my blood pressure drop. I started to feel really tired and dizzy, and then the nurse came in and told me that they needed me on oxygen to bring my blood pressure back up. It finally went back to normal, and the nurses started saying it's because I'm a redhead, and that happens to red heads a lot. I also started to get the shakes, even though I wasn't cold. It was driving me crazy, because I couldn't figure out how to make them stop. Then the nurse told me that was another side effect of the epidural. Well, anyway, they decided to break my water at around 11:30 or noon, and I was 90% effaced and dilated to a 4. The nurse said she thought I'd be ready to have the baby around 4pm. Well, a little later, the nurse checked me and surprised said, you're at an 8! My mom came probably around 12:30 or 1pm, and talked and hung out. Evlyn's heart rate started to drop with each contraction, so they gave me the oxygen again and had me lay on my side. That did the trick! The nurse was surprised a little later when I was at a 10. She said the baby was right there and it was time to push. My mom left the room so that it could be just me and Jared with the doctors. So, I pushed during the contractions and about 30 minutes later beautiful little Evlyn was born. They laid her on my stomach and it was so surreal. I thought, "hey, here's a cute little baby!" Then I thought, "wait, this is our baby!" It still didn't really hit until we came home 2 days later. So, at 1:54 pm little Evlyn Rose Morris was born. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. We both love her so much and think she is so beautiful!

I had a checkup appointment Wednesday, and found out that I've lost 19 lbs. in the first week. They didn't say if that was good or bad, so hopefully that's normal? I'm curious to know how much I lost right away, besides the 7lbs. 10 oz. that Evlyn weighed. For some reason I find it interested to see how much the placenta and everything else weighed. Oh well.
The following pictures are the day she was born.

pictures
Our precious little Evlyn had her 1rst doc. appointment and everything about her was perfect. She's eating well and is now 7 lbs 7.5 oz. The doctor said usually babies lose more than that. She is 5 days old today. Her coloring is great, and the cord/belly button are fine. That was a relief bc the skin was red and the doc. in the hospital said it could be infected. So, I'm super relieved to see that it should be fine. I'll post the birth story later, but I wanted to get some pictures up. For some reason it won't let me put more up, but I will on another post. Here are pictures my sister Aimee took on Saturday, when Evlyn was 3 days old.

Nope
So I had more contractions yesterday, but they weren't strong enough still. I got excited, but they stopped again. So, no Evlyn yet but I still have all day today and tonight before they induce me tomorrow.

updates
So, I'm going to start posting every day for the next few days until I have Evlyn. Yep, that means she hasn't come yet. I was a little sad because I really wanted her for Mother's Day, but I guess there's plenty more mother's days to come. The doctor was going to induce me today, but I really want her to come on her own so they pushed it back to Wednesday. Hopefully she'll come sometime between now and then!
On Thursday, I walked for about 2 hours, trying to get things going. I don't know if it did anything besides make me exhausted, but then that night I started having contractions! I got so excited! They were about 15 minutes apart, and it started around 8pm. I walked around the house a little, pushed on pressure points, and finally went to bed around 12. I had a hard time sleeping b/c of the contractions and b/c I was so excited. Well, at around 4am they stopped. I was pretty disappointed! That hasn't happened since, although I've had tons of Braxton Hicks contractions.
Then, on Friday, I vacuumed the house, including loading the vacuum up the stairs. One of the days, I can't remember which, I also swept, mopped, and got down on my hands and knees to scrub the floor. Then, on Saturday, Jared's parents came over and helped us with some projects that we needed their saw for. So, Diana and I were up and down the stairs, scrubbing stuff, caulking, cleaning, and getting tired for about 3-4 hours. I don't know if any of this did anything. But, I guess I got some good excersize! I'll let ya know if anything happens, but I'll at least be having her on Wednesday!
Oh, and P.S. Some people have guessed how big they think she will be. If you get it right, and your name is Rose, we'll name her middle name after you! ;) So, any guesses to height and weight?

Not yet...
Well, little Evlyn has not decided to appear yet. As of last Friday, I haven't dilated any more, but I'm 60-70% effaced. The doctor said I could have her any time, or I could go past my due date. He said it's hard to tell. So, more of the waiting game and more Braxton Hicks contractions. She's still moving lots, which I like but she's getting pretty strong so sometimes it hurts.
This past weekend was fun/crazy! We drove to Mesa because Tami Cox had her baby shower in the morning. So, I went with my mom and sister, Aimee, to that and it was fun to hang out and see friends. Then, Jared and I went to Walmart, we hung out with Aimee and Josh and my family, and then we went to a wedding reception and a going away party. The wedding reception was for Miriam Reynolds, who was my daughter on the trek like 5 years ago! She looked so happy! Too bad I didn't take any pictures. :(
The going away party was for Laurel, because she and her hubby are moving all the way to South Carolina!! Then, after visiting one more person, we headed home. It was an exhausting day!
Mother's Day is this Sunday! Jared and I have had the hardest time trying to figure out what to get our mothers. Jared finally had a great idea for my mom, and we have something for his. However, it's also his mom's birthday 2 days later, but we're celebrating it this Friday. Anybody have any ideas??
